Schumi is back !

Micheal Schumacher is back to competitive F1 racing...

Filepe got injured during Hungary Qualifying forcing him to take rest for the balance period of the year and Ferrari team have requested Schumi to fill in. How is he going to tackle with a car which is not performing so well is to be seen.

Whatever it is, it would be a pleasure to watch Schumi race and can't wait to see Schumi in Valencia Circuit on 23rd Aug. It would be icing on the cake, if Schumi finishes in the podium and would be great to see him lift the trophy !!!

FEDEX - The true champ

Roger Federer, called Fedex has achieved what tennis players have not achieved.. 15 grand slams.. And what a way to get that 15th Grand Slam - longest 5th set in a Wimbledon final. The score line finally read 5-7. 7-6(6), 7-6(5), 3-6, 16-14.

Andy Roddick (A-Rod) the man on the opposite side gave everything he had and played his best tennis. Fedex was not at his best but still managed to get through A-Rod.

The celebrities in the final included Sachin Tendulkar, Sir Alex Ferguson and tennis greats, Pete Sampras, Bjorn Borg, John Mcnroe and Rod Laver. The only sore point was Rafeal Nadal was not there. It would have been fun if Fedex had defeated Rafa for his 15th grand slam..

In the process, Fedex has become World No. 1. Lets hope he completes the year with his 16th Grandslam in US Open.

Fedex wins French Open

Roger Federer finally won the French Open title (after losing consecutive 3 finals to Rafael Nadal) making it 14 Grandslams - Five each of Wimbledon and US Open, 3 Australian and the solitary French Open.

The biggest advantage for Fedex is that it was Robin Soderling on the other side of the court and not Rafa.. Had it been Rafa, he would have lost the game mentally. Being Soderling, who had lost all his 9 meetings with Federer (funny to hear his speech in the presentation ceremony saying that having lost 9 times, thought he wont lose the 10th time, but has promised will not make it 11) made Fedex's job bit easy. Also the big match tension would have authored Soderling's fall.

But the big question being - Did Federer play his best tennis - what we used to see in the Wimbledon - the answer is NO. Had it been somebody else other than Del Petro, Fedex would not be having even the plate in his hand. Del Petro was tired mentally and physically after the 3rd set which made Fedex's job easier who peaked at the right time. Even in the finals, Fedex was not at his best - but played good tennis not to lose to Soderling.

Can't wait to see Fedex back in Wimbledon with the cup.. Rafa, you are now upagainst the person who has joined the elite group of 6 people to have won all four grandslams..

Finally, who else would have been better than Andre Agassi to handover the trophy.. Agassi knows for sure, how great a player Federer is !

No 25 & 26 for Yelena

Yeah, Yelena Isinbayeva has done it again.. Jumped 4.97 m and then 5.00 m to claim her 25th and 26th world record.. Though she had jumped 5.05 m in Beijing Olympics, this is the record for indoor meets... and that too, it has come in Sergei Bubka stadium, Donetsk, Ukraine..

Just another 9 more to equal Sergei Bubka and 10 more to break him - the vow taken by Yelena... Wishing her success throughout....

Yuki Bhambri's achievement

Yuki Bhambri today became the fourth Indian to win a junior singles title and the first Indian to win Australian Open Junior singles.. Lets be proud of his achievement !

After Ramanathan Krishnan won the Junior Wimbledon title in 1954, his son Ramesh Krishnan (Junior Wimbledon and French Open champion in 1979) and Leander Paes (Junior Wimbledon in 1990 & US Open in 1991), Yuki has won the Australian Open Junior singles.. His ride to the crown was smooth except a near exit in the first round - German Sanchez Delfin of Mexico gave him a tough fight with Yuki winning the decider 8-6. After that it was smooth sailing for Yuki who did not drop even a single set even in final...

Lets hope he rides on with his form and wins all the grandslams.. Also, lets hope he emulates Ramesh & Leander and wins a grandslam title...
